The Mar Menor – Microclima de Felicidad / Microclimate of Happiness! Also known as La Manga del Mar Menor and is in the region of Murcia in Spain.
This Mar Menor mappa map covers both the La Manga strip side and the inland part. Towns covered: San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Santiago de la Ribera, Los Alcázares, Los Nietos, La Manga, Cabo de Palos, plus many more.
The true La Manga is the geographical feature that separates the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean. This heavily developed strip, which is some 24km long and in places only 100m wide, can be seen for tens of kilometres inland. La Manga has a number of pleasant beaches and is in places home to the jet set with a few stunning marinas. The hotels along La Manga are popular with Spaniards and this really was the first area of tourist development in the region, when it was discovered in the 60s.
As it’s located between two seas La Manga is also an ideal place to practice nautical sports. Sailing and water-skiing schools with regular courses, windsurfing and catamarans, kitesurfing, whatever whets your appetite. And of course there are some great places for scuba diving, such as Cabo de Palos and the rocky depths next to Isla Grosa.
